Skanska this month starts a $98m project to expand Redmond Municipal Airport in Redmond, Oregon.
Due to finish in early 2028, the project will add around 7,400 sq m of concourse and terminal space to meet growing demand in Central Oregon.
At the end, the airport will have seven new jet bridges, a doubled terminal-seating area, and around 550 sq m of new retail and restaurant concession space.
Skanska will also make a range of accessibility improvements, add more than 25 new restroom stalls, and upgrade the airports public address system.
The airport is aiming for a LEED Silver certification with more energy-efficient lighting, a modern HVAC system, and 315 extra solar panels.
“With this expansion, we’re not just preparing for the future, we’re shaping it,” City of Redmond Mayor, Ed Fitch.
“Redmond Airport is a critical gateway for Central Oregon, and this project ensures we continue to meet the needs of our communities with vision, care and forward-thinking infrastructure.”
